Friends,
In the past week, I’ve moved my parents from one town to the next. A lifetime of stuff packed in classy things like trash bags and dresser drawers and Staples boxes.
All of these pictures to show you just how much of my mother’s exquisite decorating we had packed up in our arms, shuffling up and down two flights of stairs. When all was said and done, I’d only called her a hoarder twice.
Long story short, we were without internet, showers, and civility for a few days. I’m sorry to have been out of touch.
Let’s reconnect now that my arms have stopped throbbing.
Love,
Andie
Wow I love that bedroom with the green walls and the gold mirror! Gorgeous!
Welcome back! I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s missed you’re wit and encouragement. I can’t imagine my parents moving from their home of 22 years! Yikes. I dread the day!
Welcome back, love.
I missed you dearly <3
It took my family 2 months to move my mother earlier this year. I should have lost 10 pounds with all that activity. However, I gained 10 pounds seeking comfort in all the madness!
One more thing… If your mother is a hoarder she hides her stuff well. Very classy.
The house is just beautiful. The weather here in MA is going to be nice the next 4 to 5 days and I wish I had a backyard like that!
Also wanted to say I found your blog recently and it’s been amazing to read. It’s inspiring me during my weight loss journey.
The decorating in the house is beautiful!
I’m in love with those bunk beds! Were they custom made to fit in that spot?
I have missed your positive energy and encouragement that radiates from your blog.
If I every become a millionaire, I’d love to hire your mom to do the interior decorating in my house. Gorgeous!!!!
man, I hate moving!! I usually get so frustrated that I end up throwing/giving away half of my stuff, then months later I realize that now I have nothing and have to go buy MORE stuff. Sigh. It’s a viscious cycle.
Wow, that is a lot of work!
Tanti saluti!
Valeria
Grazie mille, Valeria! Piacere :)
Andie
I’m happy to see your return. I’ve only recently discovered your blog and am in love with your sincerity and beautiful gift with words. Thank you for sharing in this way.
They have bunk beds??? That is the coolest.
Whats a beautiful house – i can’t imagine my parents ever moving out of the house we all grew up in! Thank you for the photos – i’m currently trying to decide how to decorate our house and your parents house has such a lovely warm feel to it, it’s provided some wonderful inspiration!
Moving isn’t easy but when it’s done it sure is a relief! My wife and I know all about that!! Have fun in the new digs! :)
I’m a new fan but can’t stop visiting your site! Exquisite is the right word for your mom’s decorating. She has incredible taste. Glad you’re back!
Andie, was this your childhood home? if so, was it hard leaving? Looks like though you had your stuff out a while ago….my house will look like that once my 3 kids are grown…not that I want that to happen in a hurry!
Love your blog, you are an inspiration!
Ami
Hi Andie ~~~
I know I’m kind of new still but I missed you. I hope there is much happiness in the new house.
Beautiful house, I’d want to have a house with meticulous decoration like that, candles, mirrors, lamps, shades, gorgeous
I want to know how she changes the sheets and/or makes the bed for the bunkbeds. It must be hard since they are tucked back in that nook.
Holy mother of pearl!! I LOVEEEE that pink and mint room! Wow. Can your mother come decorate my house? Please?
I love the room with the bunk beds!!
Can your mother come decorate my house to?? Very beautiful!
Andie, you’re a trooper! Moving is never easy, especially when it involves stairs and a lifetime of memories. I hope your parents are settling in well. Here’s to smooth internet connections, hot showers, and the return of civility! Cheers to you for keeping a sense of humor through it all.
