Martin Luther King Jr. Quote - Violence begets violence. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

Andie – I’m wondering if you can say more. This seems to be related to the police officer shootings but I’m wondering how you feel about what has happened to the community of color of this week and in the last year(s)? I’m feeling very disheartened by the fact that many bloggers have posted today and seem to be posting in regards to the shootings in Dallas. But I’ve seen very little re: the people of color lost this week. I’m just so…sad…and disillusioned with my blogger community this week and hoping to know more. I respect you and hope to hear your feelings beyond this quote. It seems to be driven at the person who shot police officers and matched hate with hate. Which is wrong. And completely horrible without question. But I’ve yet to see a response to what led to this from the blogging community at large. Where is the sadness and outrage toward black lives lost? I’ve been responding to other bloggers with the same sentiment. I’m honestly seeking clarification when I see outrage re: one sect of people but not the other and invite your clarifications. I respect you immensely and look forward to your thoughts. Please know I come from a place of respect and open dialogue and invite your thoughts on the subject. This has been a hard week for all.

Hi Hannah, I’ve been checking back on your comment in hopes. But I just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone in feeling disillusioned and your other thoughts.

What more can one say in the face of so much violence from all sides. Thank-you for these words of wisdom. One can only hope for a world free of hate, to live with tolerance and love towards all.

    1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.

this i feel says it all.. If we would just treat everyone as we would like to be treated and live by the above
definition of love we could heal the troubles of the world including the USA. But all people must believe and act in a responsible caring way to one another..
