What I Love This Week

35 weeks pregnant and this is the only swimsuit that fits: Daniel’s rash guard and shorts :)

I’m at the stage of pregnancy (and quarantine) where I am constantly looking for new things to watch and nothing sounds good. Somehow after scanning everything available on Netflix, Hulu, Disney, and Amazon (sorry Quibi) I somehow settled on Survivor. A cultural touchstone of a different era that somehow has 40 seasons and this is my first time. Season 1 (which occurred about a hundred years ago) was good, season 2 was great, and so far season 3 is making me want to just fast forward to the final episode. None of the season 3 cast members seem to be genuinely decent and likable people—is that just my read? The only people I was rooting for were/are Clarence and Teresa. Are you a Survivor fan? Which seasons are your favorites? Please no spoilers, I’m about 20 years behind!

Holding classes outside might be a way for in person learning to happen in the near future for students.

Dads have been contributing more to parenting but the stereotype of the sitcom dad remains.

When I moved to California I couldn’t find a job and I started watching 24. My husband Would come home at night from work and the house would be dark and I was watching 24. I’ had been watching it all day long. When I finally came to the last episode I told my husband I feel lost that it’s over and I have such a crush on Tony and Jack. And we both started laughing as it was so funny.

I have seen a few Survivor shows but never could get really into them.

We have watched every single season of Survivor without fail! My girls were preteens during the first season, so we did an all out tribal council themed dinner complete with plastic bugs and rats for the finale. Major crush on Jeff Probst here!!! Can’t point to one single best season…but any of the returning all star seasons are good. Also, ones like Heroes vs Villains…or when family members team up! Enjoy these last few weeks as you are in the home stretch!!!

Andie I read your memoir and loved it so much a few years back. I am super struggling with my weight last few years and depression too. I know what it is like to be in both worlds. At my best I look back at the photos and can’t believe how insecure I still was. Anyway this is not the correct reply to the TV thing! I looked you up a few weeks ago to see what happened to you since your book and I am so happy for you that you are married to the boy you loved and reunited with and you are a mommy! Beautiful mama too! Anyway as for TV I loved Virgin River on Netflix. And Shameless is on there too. For mindless reality loved Love is Blind. I am proud of you!

When I was pregnant last year I watched all the seasons of survivor! There are some great characters ahead for you! It’s amazing seeing how times have changed with some of the commentary from players and even Jeff. My husband was a fan forever so he rewatched them with me. We still joke our baby knows “papa Jeff” because we watched it so much.. I don’t want to do any spoilers but I think you should stick with it :)
