Happy Halloween!
Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays—so much fun spooky, silly stuff, plus unlimited candy—but experiencing it with my children is even better, especially now that James kinda-sorta knows something special is going on. He loves walking around the neighborhood and looking at the decorations (“we go see ghosts! Boo!”). He takes a daily visit to see a big blow up Frankenstein (“bankendeint”) and mummy (“mommy’s ghost”). As for costumes, James really loves Mickey so we got him a Mickey Mouse costume and a two-sizes-too-big Pluto for his little brother/sidekick Levi. We took them to my parent’s house, 10 minutes away, to trick or treat. James loved ringing their door bell and getting his candy. We just did the one house this year, so hopefully next year we’ll get to go house to house. We’re lucky that James and Levi are too young to realize how different this Halloween is. I can’t imagine how frustrating it is for older kids who are missing out, but hopefully they have plenty of fun (and candy!).

They are adorable. In the years to come, you will have a Halloween story to tell them about how different Halloween was this year. The picture of Levi complaining that he has had enough would have been my youngest daughter. We have pictures of her at about the same age with her 2 siblings all dressed up on Easter. She didn’t want any parts of it and was screaming her lungs out. Actually, the pictures are sweet. Her brother and sister, (ages 5-6) are looking at her with the strangest looks on their faces. It was really memorable. Babies are precious and so lovable no matter what they are feeling. Hope you all continue to thrive in the month ahead.
Your boys are the cutest! I love when you shared a few years ago that you guys go all out with full size candy bars for your neighborhood kids! I can’t wait to be that person one day!! :)
