Broiled Salmon with Asian Glaze

All you need is a sheet pan and my irresistible Asian glaze recipe and you’ve got perfectly cooked Asian glazed salmon in 20 minutes!

  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp bbq sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp chili-garlic sauce
  • 2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 4 salmon fillets just over a pound


For the glaze:

  • In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk together all of the ingredients (except for salmon). Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer until thickened, about 3 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from heat and divide it into 2 small bowls.
  • Move your oven’s rack to sit about 6 inches below the broiler, then heat your broiler.

For the salmon

  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.Lay the salmon fillets on your foil-lined baking sheet and, using only 1 bowl of glaze, brush the tops and sides with the glaze.
  • Broil the salmon until the tops are browned, about 8 minutes (use a small knife to cut into the center of one to check for an opaque light pink center).
  • Transfer the salmon to a large plate and brush with the unused bowl of glaze.
